Sodium iodide NaI(Tl) - scintillation material, which has high efficiency, good resolution, high density and fast enough for most purposes registration and gamma spectrometry and X-ray radiation.

Crystal NaI(Tl) currently the most common of all scintillation materials. The scintillator NaI (Tl) differs by high light – for producing a single photon it spent about 25 eV. The luminescence spectrum good go with the spectral sensitivity bialkali photocathode of photomultiplier tubes. Scintillator NaI(Tl) has high transparency to light of the intrinsic emission. The big disadvantage of the crystal is its high hygroscopicity.

Application

The detectors are designed for integration to measuring instruments of ionizing radiation.

The detectors are used for the registration and spectrometry of gamma radiation in the energy range from 0,05MeV to 8 MeV.
