DPOL®
Collection of floating waste

Description

DPOL® is an environmental protection system designed to capture floating waste and surface-level hydrocarbons (oil, petrol, diesel, etc.).

It operates by using a high-powered pump to draw in clean water from deep behind the device. This water is then accelerated and released through small openings near the surface, right at the centre of the DPOL®. This creates a reverse flow, generating a surface current that moves from the front of the unit toward the interior of the collection net. This current can extend several dozen meters outward. As a result, both solid and liquid pollutants are naturally carried by the current into the appropriate collection net.

Application

DPOL is an efficient and easy-to-use solution for capturing floating debris and surface hydrocarbons.

There are several types of DPOL systems:

DPOL® Classic. A harbor pollution control system designed for occasional use or emergency situations, such as responding to oil spills.
    DPOL
® HD. A harbor pollution control system intended for continuous or long-term use in managing all types of marine pollution.
    DPOL
® Max. An industrial-grade marine pollution control system designed for high-capacity and large-scale waste collection.

Floating pollutants typically accumulate in corners where wind and currents naturally direct them. This is the ideal spot to place the DPOL® for maximum efficiency. Since the DPOL® is lightweight and doesn’t require special equipment to move, its location can be easily adjusted. Deployment is simple: lower it into the water from a dock and secure it using mooring ropes.

Once in place, connect the DPOL® to a power source to begin the cleanup. If grid electricity isn’t available, a generator (or battery) can be used.

The DPOL® requires very little human involvement—mainly just emptying the collection net. Depending on the pollution level, the net fills up within 1 hour to 2 days. When full, pull the flexible handle by hand or with a pike pole to release the net. Then simply empty its contents. The reusable net can be re-attached in under five minutes.

Maintaining the DPOL® is quick, simple, and cost-effective. We recommend brushing or cleaning it twice a month, and replacing the anodes once a year. Spare parts are available if needed.

HD.  Net with a fine mesh (1.2x1.2mm) and reinforced to be utilised for any type of floating debris, included oil and vegetation (75L and 150L, HPDE). It is compatible with the DPOL Classic and HD.

HD Zip.  Same features than the HD net on which an industrial zip has been included at the bottom for an easy emptying (150L and 300L, HPDE).  It is compatible with the DPOL Classic and HD.

Reinforced.  Net manufactured with a special mesh to resist to vegetation and branches (mesh 2.5x2.5mm, 150L, HPDE). It is compatible with the DPOL Classic and HD.

Max. High volume net with reinforced mesh and straps (800L, HDPE). Designed for the DPOL Max.

     Oil Spill Kit

       ∙ Absorbent skirted boom

This boom has been specially designed to simultaneously contain and absorb hydrocarbon pollution in the absence of strong currents in a harbor. 3 fasteners combined to guarantee water tightness, strength and efficiency: top- and bottom-mounted carabiners and Velcro strap.

           Diameter of coil: 20cm

          Weighted skirt height: 20cm

          Linear mass: 2.24 kg/m

Absorption capacity under real-world conditions: 60L per 6-meter section. It can stay in the water for several weeks.

       ∙ Reusable skirted boom

This innovative skirted boom helps save costs and protect the environment by preventing additional plastic waste. Simply insert absorbent material inside and reuse it as needed. It is ideal for DPOL oil spill management. Absorbents are not included and are sold separately. this boom is compatible with the DPOL Classic and HD.

      ∙ Absorbent

It is intended to be placed inside the DPOL net, in addition to either of the two previously mentioned booms. Real absorption capacity:44 L/bag of 85L. Dimensions: 8 cm in length and 2 mm in diameter.
         Package: 85 L to 480 L bags.
