ASW3L. Version 2026
Liquid scintillation spectrometry
Application
The ASW3L program is intended for use with the Liquid Scintillation Spectrometer TRIEL and is a modification of the standard spectrometric software ASW2, expanded for high-precision analysis of alpha- and beta-emitting radionuclides using spectral deconvolution and quenching accounting methods.

Description
ASW3L software enables simultaneous and independent control of all connected TRIEL spectrometers (or other spectrometric devices for liquid scintillation analysis) and provides all the necessary processing tools for liquid scintillation spectrometry. It enables spectral measurements and processing, configuration of measurement tract parameters, and the acquisition of all relevant spectrometric characteristics.
ASW3L features a modern multi-window interface and offers extensive spectrum management capabilities, including mathematical processing, batch analysis, application of specialized algorithms, and data export and conversion to third-party applications.
ASW3L software implements a method for decomposing multicomponent spectra into their components, based on modeling the measured spectrum as a combination of reference spectra from a calibration library, taking quenching into account.
ASW3L also supports remote measurement management using both the built-in "Scenarium" module and an open IP protocol, enabling integration with existing laboratory and automated systems.
ASW3L also includes:
● tools for generating and maintaining radionuclide calibration libraries;
● measurement database;
● quality assurance procedures (QA/QC);
● report generation wizard;
● automation of measurements and data processing;
● integration with laboratory information systems (LIMS);
● GMP mode, including user management, access rights, data integrity, and full audit trail.
The spectral modeling method implemented in ASW3L enables efficient rapid spectrometric screening of liquid samples and allows simultaneous evaluation of the contributions of multiple radionuclides within a single measurement. This approach is particularly useful for the analysis of complex samples and can be used as an effective tool for operational radiological monitoring.
More details on the application of the method can be found in the article:
